seniors

Kylon by Londen Wheeler

Photographing Kylon was one of the best times I've had as a photographer who sometimes photographs seniors. I absolutely cannot believe all of the things that this young man has accomplished in just his high school years. This guy is going into his first year of college as a junior. Yes, you read that right. He completed the first two years of his college coursework while in high school! Can you believe that?! When he and his mom explained why he had two different cap and gowns, I felt like I could run laps with excitement. I certainly was not that great of a student in high school, so when I hear about young black men accomplishing this, I can't help but feel an immense amount of joy.

Kylon, I've already said it once, but I'll say it once more. I'm very proud of you and what you have managed to accomplish thus far! Continue to grind and put in the work. The fruits of your labor will taste sweet when the time comes!

Anthony by Londen Wheeler

Another senior photo shoot in the bag! This time, I had the pleasure of shooting with Anthony. This time I found myself at the University of North Texas (UNT). I've driven past this campus millions of times but never stopped to ride and walk around their campus. It was a pretty cool place to be! Their facilities were nice and campus was beautiful!

This was the first time I've seen Anthony since 2018. The last time we were together, it was to do a shoot for one of our mutual friends. When he asked me to do his senior photos, I jumped at the opportunity! It was an honor to get a tour of the campus and to connect with him again after a three year hiatis.

I'm still booking shoots through the end of the year! Let's get together, everyone!

Alizay by Londen Wheeler

There's no shoot that I enjoy more than doing senior photoshoots! Whether high school or collegiate, nothing compares to seeing people graduate and talk about all of their ambitions and what they want to do after graduation. Although I enjoy these shoots, every year that passes by, I'm getting older and my clients are getting younger. That only means one thing... I'm turning into an "old head." I'm not ready to be old, y'all!

Alizay and I did this shoot at the University of Texas at Dallas. I love this campus. The buildings are beautiful, and the atmosphere is always pretty chill when I'm there. Alizay was a lot of fun to work with! A lot of great conversation! She told me about the field that she's studying and what she plans to do, and I tell you what, she has an amazingly bright future ahead of herself. Makes me miss those days when I would talk about my goals and ambitions as a young 22-year-old. Ahhh, the good old days.

Anyway, I'm still scheduling shoots! I'm down for events! Big or small!

Nailah - Class of 2018 by Londen Wheeler

Ahhh, man. Looks like I took an unintentional leave of absence from blogging!  Between work, things going on in my personal life, and trying to be a 23 year old, it's been hard to get out and take photos.  So yeah, meet Nailah!  She's a high school senior who is graduating in the next few weeks!  What a great young lady!  Very confident, very talented, and obviously works the camera like nobody else can!

It was a joy to explore Downtown Plano with Nailah and her mom.  Other than the wind blowing at 100 mph, everything about the afternoon was perfect!  I don't think there would've been a better day to do a senior shoot honestly.  Nailah is actually the first high school senior shoot that I have done since moving to Dallas so I can finally cross that off of my photography to-do-list!  What a great way to start off my first senior session in the Dallas metroplex!

If anybody is interested in doing any senior shoots, please let me know!  I am always looking to do more shoots like this.  I've always wanted to do an athletics themed senior session so definitely let me know if you guys know of anyone who would be down for that!

This Past Weekend by Londen Wheeler

It has certainly been a while since I have posted anything to the blog.  But this past weekend, I had an opportunity to photograph a high school senior and a college senior.  I'm super grateful for the time that we spent together and getting to know them more.  We all toughed it out and tried to withstand the cold weather and crazy wind, especially on Saturday.  Kudos to Gabby for wearing a dress with the weather being the way it was.  "You tha real MVP."

Jayden Nixon - high school senior

Jayden Nixon - high school senior

Jayden is a high school senior from the Charlottesville area.  I didn't know Jayden and his family but found out that we had many different connections with people we knew.  We really live in a small world, I'll tell ya that much!  It was awesome to meet Jayden and his family!  Good luck with the rest of your school year and let me know where you choose to attend college!

Gabby Smith - college senior

Gabby Smith - college senior

Gabby and I go wayyyyyy back.  Back to the middle school days and spending our summers at the Boys and Girls Club in Charlottesville.  When I moved away, we lost touch and somehow reconnected when we got to college.  The first time that I had seen her (outside of social media) since middle school was at a bowling alley in Harrisonburg when some friends and I got together for my birthday.  Since then, we've been keeping tabs on how we were doing and scheduled to do a shoot together!  It's so awesome to be able to reconnect with amazing, lifelong friends.  Wish I could be at your graduation, Gabby!  I'm proud of everything that you've accomplished!  The future is bright for you.
