Dallas

Dan and Amy by Londen Wheeler

It's not every day that you get to photograph a couple who are arguably the best and most humble people you've ever met. Dan reached out to me and noticed that I didn't have any maternity photos on the site. He wasn't wrong. I've never photographed any maternity photos and never really jumped at the chance to call myself such a photographer. He asked if I was interested in photographing his wife for a maternity session. Of course, I jumped at the chance to be able to do that. It would be nice to branch out and photograph something other than sports and senior photos for once. I gleefully agreed and decided that we would do an early morning shoot at a local lake here in Dallas. We chose the early morning because.... well, it's July in Texas. We weren't trying to have a heat stroke for some photos.

Dan and Amy certainly had some words of wisdom for a young photographer with high career aspirations. This shoot turned into a wisdom-session and it's a conversation that I will never forget for as long as I live. One of the main reasons why I love being a photographer is because I get to learn so much about the people that I photograph and vice versa.

Thanks, Dan and Amy for trusting me to take photos of such an amazing time in your lives!

Gaines and Yorlynn by Londen Wheeler

Hello, everyone! After over two years of dealing with this pandemic, I was able to photograph my first wedding after taking some time away from the wedding scene. This time I took some photos of a previous client's younger sister. Back in 2017, I photographed the eldest sister's wedding! I was contacted and asked to do the next child's wedding. Of course, I jumped at the chance to photograph this family for a second time! It felt like I was there with my own family, and seeing all of the familiar faces again really made my heart feel great!

I'm sharing a few photos from this wedding with y'all! Hopefully I can continue photographing weddings and giving y'all more images to check out. Keep your eyes peeled as I have more great things in the works for the next couple of months!

Alizay by Londen Wheeler

There's no shoot that I enjoy more than doing senior photoshoots! Whether high school or collegiate, nothing compares to seeing people graduate and talk about all of their ambitions and what they want to do after graduation. Although I enjoy these shoots, every year that passes by, I'm getting older and my clients are getting younger. That only means one thing... I'm turning into an "old head." I'm not ready to be old, y'all!

Alizay and I did this shoot at the University of Texas at Dallas. I love this campus. The buildings are beautiful, and the atmosphere is always pretty chill when I'm there. Alizay was a lot of fun to work with! A lot of great conversation! She told me about the field that she's studying and what she plans to do, and I tell you what, she has an amazingly bright future ahead of herself. Makes me miss those days when I would talk about my goals and ambitions as a young 22-year-old. Ahhh, the good old days.

Anyway, I'm still scheduling shoots! I'm down for events! Big or small!

We Back! by Londen Wheeler

We Back!

Is this over? The pandemic… is it over? No? Ok. No problem. We can still have fun outdoor shoots in beautiful Dallas any day of the week! This particular shoot was my first family photoshoot in what feels like a lifetime. Thank you, Sarah, for allowing me to be a part of your family photo shoot and for the opportunity to finally step back out and get active in photographing families again!

Stay on the lookout, y'all!  I’m going to start getting more active in posting new blogs and new images. I miss being able to share what’s going on and show what new photography adventures I’m having. Hope all of you are doing well and staying healthy!

Black Lives Matter by Londen Wheeler

I haven’t posted anything to my blog since July of 2019. However, I wanted to use my platform to bring attention to injustices and to talk about how a broken system has continually failed me and my people. With the death of George Floyd and countless other beautiful black men and women, we as a people are outraged, we are sad, we are upset, we are sick. We wonder why these things continue to happen to us. We wonder why the system that is supposed to protect every American somehow fails US. We are upset about being told that our protests and rioting should be done differently.

We cannot be too focused on the fact that Target was gutted or that businesses were destroyed or looted. It’s an unfortunate inconvenience where a broken system affects more than just the oppressed. Those businesses have insurance and everything from the building structure to the contents inside of them can be replaced. A life, however, cannot. We must keep our focus on the lives that have been taken from us unjustly and lead the charge in dismantling a failed system.

Do not be silent. Do not be complacent. Do not think that it can’t happen to you. We need each other so that we can make a better world for our children and our children’s children.

I support the Black Lives Matter movement and I support the efforts being made all across the United States of America. We want justice, we want peace, we want to live.
