Mother's Day by Londen Wheeler

On what feels like the windiest day fo the year, we somehow managed to make it through the shoot. The wind was blowing so hard that my 130 lbs self was being moved all around like a leaf! We’ve been experiencing crazy weather in Dallas the past week. Between extremely high winds and weeks long rain, I’m not sure what else to expect at this point!

This shoot was fun! I got to photograph a mother and her two beautiful daughters for a fun Mother’s Day shoot! What we didn’t expect was it being prom weekend. Our location was super busy and full of high schoolers looking to return to normalcy after this year with the virus. We booked this shoot hoping that it would be an easy one but with the wind and the amount of people in the park, it was tough to find a good spot. We made it work, though. The photos turned out fantastic and I absolutely hope that I can work with these lovely ladies again in the future!

I’m still booking photoshoots throughout the summer and hope that I can continue photographing new faces and even get back to some familiar ones now that we’re having some normalcy. Let’s work, y’all!

We Back! by Londen Wheeler

We Back!

Is this over? The pandemic… is it over? No? Ok. No problem. We can still have fun outdoor shoots in beautiful Dallas any day of the week! This particular shoot was my first family photoshoot in what feels like a lifetime. Thank you, Sarah, for allowing me to be a part of your family photo shoot and for the opportunity to finally step back out and get active in photographing families again!

Stay on the lookout, y'all!  I’m going to start getting more active in posting new blogs and new images. I miss being able to share what’s going on and show what new photography adventures I’m having. Hope all of you are doing well and staying healthy!

Orlando by Londen Wheeler

I must say, I have been out of the state and traveling a ton the past 9 months.  I'm impressed and very happy with how often I've been on the move.  This time the family and I took a trip to Orlando for a mini vacation.  We didn't take a plane to get to our destination, but we took a drive from Texas through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and then into Florida.  I would've loved to stop in all the states longer than to just get gas.  All of the places that we drove through seemed to be some pretty cool places to take photos.

Anyway, we were in Orlando for a Mother's Day get-a-way.  No, we didn't go to Disney this time but had a good time exploring Downtown Orlando, driving out to Cocoa Beach, walking around the resort.  Shoot, I even went to a local barbershop and got my beard trimmed up.  I felt like a local and not a tourist this time around and I certainly love having that local experience while traveling to different cities.  Not only did we get to celebrate Mother's Day, but we got to celebrate Nana's birthday, and Aunt Rita's send off to Afghanistan.

I'm ready to go to another city soon.  I really want to go to Austin because why not?  It's only 4 hours away, but working Saturdays sucks because I can never just take a weekend trip anywhere without having to take time off.  *yawn*  Adulting at its finest.

Honestly, I think my next trip will just be to travel around Dallas a bit more.  I still haven't gone to the Cowboys stadium to do a tour of their facility.  Can you believe that?!  I've been to Deep Ellum a few times, but hasn't experience the nightlife there at all.  I'm really missing out on things to do and experience in my own backyard!  So I guess I'll do that first!

Maria & Family by Londen Wheeler

Sup, everyone!  Long time no see!  It's been a while since I've done a blog post.  My coworker and good friend, Maria finally got a free day for us to go do photos with her kids.  We literally planned to do this since the summer and have both just not been able to do a shoot because of our lives being so hectic.

The day before the shoot, we confirmed where we wanted to go. The photos that I saw online made the locations look beautiful and a place that would be good for family photos.  Well, that wasn't the case after we got there!  We pulled up, looked around, and everything was brown, dead, and ugly.  I had another location as a backup and we made our way to that spot.  Literally the exact same thing.  Everything was ugly, the park was extremely small, you could see the back of people's houses, fences.  Just a pitiful park.  Should it have even been called a park?  Maria mentioned that she had a park where she used to do her morning runs that could work.  We hopped back into the car and made our way to Rockwall, Texas.  This park in comparison to the first two was perfect for what we needed.  What really made this shoot so great was that it was almost 70 degrees!  Perfect December weather if you ask me.

After the shoot, Maria's son wanted some Wendy's so we stopped and got him a 4 for 4 because he killed the shoot and had a great time!  No better way to end a long afternoon of shooting than a pitstop for some food and a Wendy's frosty.

I'm always interesting in meeting more people in the DFW area so if any of my readers know anybody, send them on to me!  I'd love to do more work with families and couples.  I'd really like to do some lifestyle shoots with couples in an Airbnb or some really awesome location.  So again, let me know if you all know some folks!

Homecoming 2017 by Londen Wheeler

It's that time of year again!  Seeing this high schoolers definitely takes me back to my glorious high school days.  I will say that our Homecomings back in Virginia were nothing like they are out here in Texas!  Back in the day we used to have the Homecoming dance after the football game and everybody got there all stinky and "smelling like outside."

This shoot was one to remember though.  I was super excited when my friend Kelsey hit me up to see if I could photograph her sister and friends for homecoming.  I accepted with no questions asked and when you have a group of high schoolers that dress to kill, these are the results!  Thanks for allowing me to photograph your special day, guys!  I hope you had a fun and safe night of dancing!
